Wedding Ceremony & Reception
April 26, 2026
Our wedding day unfolds with a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony held in the morning — a sacred celebration rooted in centuries of customs, each honoring purity, unity, and mutual respect.
Here are some of the meaningful rituals you'll witness:
Antarpat — As the groom arrives, a silk cloth (antarpat) is held between the couple, symbolizing the sacred boundary before their union.
Mangalashtak — Families recite auspicious verses as the cloth is lowered, marking the moment the bride and groom see each other for the first time — a tender and joy-filled instant.
Saptapadi (Seven Steps) — Together, the couple walks seven sacred steps around the holy fire, each step representing a vow — from friendship and trust to love and lifelong companionship.
Mangal Sutra & Kanyadaan — The bride's parents offer their blessings as the groom ties the mangal sutra, a sacred necklace symbolizing eternal love and protection.
Akshata & Blessings — Family and friends shower the couple with rice (akshata) to bless them with prosperity and happiness.
When the rituals conclude, the couple is officially married — surrounded by flowers, music, and joyful smiles.
Reception
The celebrations continue in the afternoon with an elegant reception, where we'll raise a toast, enjoy a delicious meal, and dance together — a heartfelt celebration of love that brings two cultures and families together.
